Meet Ryan

Ryan was raised in Dapto NSW, where he attended Dapto high and later the university of Wollongong, before becoming a teacher at Lake Illawarra high school, Ryan has always been a proud and active member of the Wollongong community. Ryan worked to improve our community for some time in the public service, before being elected to the Legislative assembly of NSW in the seat of Keira in 2011. Since then he has worked closely with the Illawarra community to improve local services, community programs, and outcomes, securing a better future for the Illawarra. Since gaining Government in 2023, the Labor party and Ryan have even grater opportunity to improve our communities, Ryan was made Minister for Health and Minister for Regional Health in 2023 and since then has implemented many important reforms to improve our health sector in its recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic and beyond. Information about important reforms such as the recent ban on LGBTQ+ conversion practices, a historic pay rise for invaluable paramedics, and expansion of urgent care services can be found here.
