Shadow Minister for the Illawarra and South Coast is urging Sydney siders to spend the long weekend exploring the region as restrictions are lifted and cafes, restaurants and other local attractions beginning to reopen.
Given our close proximity to Sydney we are the perfect destination for day and overnight visitors. With the June long weekend coming up people are being encouraged to visit our award winning beaches, dine in our eateries and visit iconic attractions like, Symbio or Mogo Wildlife Parks, Jervis Bay or fishing in the Eurobodalla.
“With easing restrictions, now is the time for us to welcome visitors from right across NSW to our region” Mr Park said.
“We all know that our local tourism operators and small businesses have missed out on months of income due to the devastating fires and then COVID-19. They have been crippled and face an uncertain future. They urgently need to see people back in their shops spending money and helping them to recover.
“My message to those around NSW is that the long weekend is a perfect time to get out and about and visit the Illawarra and South Coast” Mr Park said.
