Ryan Park Shadow Minister for the Illawarra is appalled that the Illawarra is missing out again when it comes public transport. This is despite the Transport Minister, Andrew Constance committing to “a better run into town” for commuters from the South Coast and Illawarra.
Transport NSW continues to spruike about services added in 2013 and carriages added in 2014 but it is now 2017 and not enough is being done to ease overcrowding and improving commuter safety for the Illawarra.
Time and time again this government continues to ignore the regions when it comes to commuter safety and prioritising the South Coast line which is well overdue for extra services. A recent announcement by the Berejiklian government to add 750 services to the Sydney network with the exclusion of the South Coast line is a slap in the face for Illawarra residents.
The member for Keira will continue to fight for a convenient and safe rail network for the Illawarra.

“This is a complete slap in the face to one of the largest commuter belts travelling to Sydney and is a complete disadvantage to the residents of regional NSW”
“I am committed to making sure that the people of the Illawarra are able to get to work safely and on time while reducing the amount of time they spend on their daily commute”
