EOI applications for the 2014-15 funding are now open for the ClubGRANTS Category 3 until Monday 15 September. This program is to assist groups to help build or upgrade community facilities and infrastructure.
This round is targeted to those groups who need some work done to their infrastructure facilities. This would include new buildings or improvements to existing buildings.Read more
New Opal Cards - what you need to know.
As you may now know the NSW Government has introduced a new ticketing system for commuters on trains. Unfortunately the Minister has failed to see it necessary to have these tickets available at the stations.
Commuters will need to order a registered Opal card.
Keira MP Ryan Park has pledged to fund a telecommuting centre in the Illawarra should the Labor Party win the next election.
The project would give people office space in a dedicated facility within the region so they could work remotely rather than commute to Sydney every day.
The NSW government last week introduced a bill to make it compulsory for business ratepayers to vote in City of Sydney local government elections in 2016.
For now, the laws would only apply in Sydney - where powerful independent Clover Moore is Lord Mayor - but Minister for Local Government Paul Toole has confirmed they could also be applied in "economic centres" like Parramatta, Newcastle and Wollongong.

Commuters on the South Coast Line who take time to provide feedback to the Minister for Transport aren’t guaranteed to have their feedback considered in an upcoming timetable review.
Since the rollout of the current timetable, commuters have experienced long waits on platforms, fewer direct services and overcrowding. A three year campaign to secure major funding for the upgrade of Bulli Hospital has received a significant boost with funding from the $100 million infrastructure fund set aside for this important facility.
This victory today is a victory for the thousands of people who contacted me, signed my petition, attended public meetings and advocated loudly that this hospital was too important to simply remain in the poor condition that it is currently in.
