Three local Surf Life Saving Clubs will be given a much needed boost to funding for important upgrades to their Club facilities. Member for Keira and Shadow Minister for the Illawarra and South Coast, Ryan Park MP announced today that Bellambi, Corrimal and Thirroul Surf Life Saving Clubs would all receive funds to improve their facilities.
Mr Park said the funds he secured through the NSW Surf Club Facility Program were aimed at supporting Clubs in doing upgrades and expansions that increase participation and safety with a focus on sustainability.
Mr Park said the funds were greatly deserved by the Clubs who play an important part in the safety, engagement and education of the local community and visitors to the region.
“Our local surf clubs provide an invaluable service to our region. They are largely run by dedicated volunteers who are not only committed to preserving the safety of our families on local beaches, but also able to provide a fun place for the community to come together.”
“That’s why and I am delighted to be able to secure these funds for Bellambi, Corrimal and Thirroul Surf Clubs so they can get on with their important upgrades to increase their capacity and sustainability.” Mr Park said
Mr Park confirmed the clubs receiving funds were:
Thirroul Surf Life Saving Club will receive $285,000 for major building improvements
Corrimal Surf Life Saving Club will receive $33,300 for refurbishments and to install a solar system
Bellambi Surf Life Saving Club will receive $30,270 for their solar program
