Member for Keira has acknowledged the outstanding work of two local community volunteers through the Premier’s Volunteer Recognition Program, a prestigious award given to exemplary volunteers who have served for in excess of twenty five years.

Mr Park has this year congratulated the tireless work of local residents Clive and Penny Dunning of Woonona.

Mr and Ms Dunning have been committed and hardworking volunteers for a number of years, volunteering their time to the community in addition to full-time work and family responsibilities. Over the years, Mr and Ms Dunning have contributed time to:

  • Thirroul Neighbourhood Centre

  • Baranardo’s

  • Meals on Wheels

  • Breakfast Club at the Bellambi Neighbourhood Centre

  • Bellambi Neighbourhood Centre Mentoring Program

  • Justices of the Peace

Mr and Ms Dunning have said that volunteeriung is a “reason to get up in the morning”, agreeing that it keeps them engaged in their local community. Mr Park, who is no stranger to volunteering himself has echoed their sentiments, stating that he finds it an “enriching and vital part of being in a community.”

Mr Park has expressed his belief that the award plays a crucial role in celebrating the substantial work of dedicated volunteers, providing them with a degree of recognition, which they deserve.
