Member for Keira Ryan Park said he was honoured to be promoted to the Shadow Treasurer role as part of the Shadow Cabinet reshuffle undertaken by Opposition Leader Luke Foley today brought on by the departure of Linda Burney from the NSW Parliament

“It truly is an honour to be given such an important role in the Opposition especially given the key contribution that the Illawarra economy makes to NSW,” he said.

“Our economy is going through significant challenges as we transition and this role will ensure that I can continue to advocate strongly for our region when it comes to investment, accelerating job opportunities and focusing on improving frontline services for our community”, he said.

“Having the Shadow Treasurer from a regional city is I think a positive move in making sure that regional areas are given a priority when it comes to funding allocations for infrastructure and services that are critical to growing our local economies,” he said.

“I am delighted that Luke Foley has also kept me as the Shadow Minister for the Illawarra, a position that I take very seriously in terms of examining proposals and policy ideas that have an impact on residents and businesses across the region,” he said.

“I look forward to the opportunity to continuing to work with local MPs from across the Illawarra to advance policies that grow our economy, provide job opportunities for local residents and deliver the much needed infrastructure that enhances the Illawarra as a place to live, work and visit,” he said.
