Ryan Park has been the Member for Keira since March 2011.
Prior to becoming a Member of Parliament Mr Park attended Wollongong University where he completed his Bachelor of Education (BEd (Hons)), and Master of Education - Leadership and Management (MEd). He also received the University Medal, Wollongong University in 2000. Ryan was admitted as a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors in July 2016.
He went on to work as a high school teacher at Lake Illawarra High School and then worked in the Department of Education as a Curriculum Adviser before starting his career as a political adviser from 2004 to 2009. He was then appointed Deputy Director General for Transport NSW before being elected as the Member for Keira.
In October 2012 he was promoted into the NSW Opposition Cabinet as Shadow Minister for Roads. In December 2013, Mr Park became the Shadow Minister for Education and Shadow Minister for the Illawarra. Following the 2015 General Election, Mr Park was promoted to Shadow Minister for Transport and Infrastructure and continued to be the Shadow Minister for the Illawarra. In March 2016, Mr Park was promoted to the position of Shadow Treasurer and continues to maintain the Shadow Minister for the Illawarra portfolio. Ryan gained the Shadow Minister for Infrastructure portfolio in November 2018.
In July 2019, NSW Labor Leader Jodi McKay announced her new administration. Ryan was promoted to Opposition Leader of the House and was appointed the new portfolios of Shadow Minister for Health, Shadow Minister for Housing and Homelessness and retained the Shadow Minister for the Illawarra and South Coast portfolio. Ryan is a Member of the Public Accounts Committee and also a Member of the Standing Order and Procedure Committee.
He is married to wife Kara and they have two sons, Preston and Oliver and lives in East Corrimal.
